E-Residency offers the freedom for every world citizen to open and run a global EU company fully online from anywhere in the world.

Estonia is the first country in the world creating a borderless digital society for global citizens by offering e-Residency. Anyone can apply for the transnational, government-issued digital identity and benefit from a platform built on inclusion, legitimacy, and transparency.

E-Residency provides access to Estonian e-services and international business tools for entrepreneurs. E-residents can digitally open a company within a day and run the company from anywhere in the world, apply for a business banking account and credit card, conduct e-banking, use international payment service providers (like PayPal, Braintree, etc), declare Estonian taxes, and sign documents and contracts. All of this can be done digitally and without the need to hire a local director.

E-Residency is the most beneficial to entrepreneurs from outside the EU, who want to have access to the EU Single Market; freelancers from emerging markets who need the possibility to accept online credit card payments but who currently do not have access in their country; digital nomads who travel the world and who want to administer their company online; startup entrepreneurs who need access to cross-border capital; and businesspeople from the EU who have multiple partners from different EU countries, since digital IDs enable them to digitally sign board decisions and contracts instantly.

E-Residency has also partnered with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development to launch eTrade For All, a groundbreaking initiative that is helping people in the developing world benefit from entrepreneurship and e-commerce.

Taxify is an international transportation network company headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. The company develops and operates the Taxify mobile application, which allows people to request a taxi or private driver from their smartphones. Taxify operates in Europe, Africa, and South America, mediating tens of millions of rides every year to millions of customers.

Taxify specializes in delivering a great ride experience at affordable rates. The company believes that happier drivers translates to much happier riders. Taxify charges drivers a smaller commission and offers lower prices for customers than competitors do. In addition, Taxify offers a variety of payment options: cash, in-app payment (credit card), business, and in some markets telecom payments.

By improving the user’s experience and creating social value, Taxify strives to build an open, efficient, and sustainable transportation ecosystem. Once the rider has confirmed the pick-up location, requested a ride, and the driver has accepted, the rider can see the driver’s name and car details. After the ride is finished, both the driver and rider can rate each other. Taxify uses this feedback to keep the quality of the service high.
